Albert Grau Vidal - Socio Director Spain
Albert commenced his consultancy career in 1999; first with Horwath International Mazars Spain and subsequently as co-founder and Senior Partner of Magma Turismo. Prior to starting out in consultancy he was in operational management with Barceló and Hyatt International.
A graduate of IMHI, the joint venture MBA program of ESSEC (Paris) and Cornell University (Ithaka NY), Albert also gained an advance certification in Real Estate, Development and Hotel Investment from Cornell University in 2009 together with several Professional Development Programme Degrees from the same establishment (2005, 2007 and 2009).
• In his 12 years of consulting experience, Albert has undertaken projects throughout Europe, Africa, and Latin America. He specialises in market demand and financial feasibility studies, as well as operational audits, improvement programmes and the implementation of management solutions.
• In addition to appraising markets for existing products and brands, Albert has worked with clients in developing new concepts, analysing their market potential and viability and bringing them to market.
• With expertise grounded in market and financial analysis, Albert has carried out reviews of portfolios and single assets on behalf of banks, funders and other investors for financial restructuring purposes and for distressed assets, as well as acting on behalf of purchasers of individual or multiple properties.
• Acting as an expert witness, he has given evidence in arbitration proceedings and public enquiries relating to hotel rent reviews and planning approvals.
• A particular area of expertise is operator search and selection and the negotiation of management contracts with the main international hotel chains, acting on behalf of real estate companies.
• Together with Bruno Hallé, Albert established Magma Turismo in 2004 and has successfully grown its reputation as a leading hospitality consulting firm in Spain.
In addition to his consultancy activities, Albert is a visiting professor at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in Feasibility Studies as well as delivering lectures and appearing at conferences throughout Spain and internationally.
Bruno Hallé Boix - Socio Director Spain
Bruno has worked in consultancy since 1995 starting with Horwath International, Mazars Spain and subsequently as co-founder and Senior Partner of Magma Turismo, prior to which he was in operational management with Occidental Hoteles and Groupe Accor.
A graduate of IMHI, the joint venture MBA program of ESSEC (Paris) and Cornell University (Ithaka NY), Bruno pursued a managerial development programme at IESE in 2001 and gained an advance certification in Real Estate, Development and Hotel Investment from Cornell University in 2009 together with several Professional Development Programme Degrees from the same establishment (2005, 2007 and 2009).
